1/6

It's taken 3 months to complete 1 panel.

5 to go.

At this rate I'll finish in a year and a half.

Here's a little video of the progress.

New 'studio'.

The new work station.

Project is still underway. I'm like 50% done on the first mounting board.

This is a lot harder than I thought it was going to be.

More art?

No I have not forgotten this project.

No I'm not lazy.

I just haven't found time to do much of it.

I had a little time last week so I managed that.

That's the corner portion of the 'beach scene' I'm planning.

As you can see, it's a pirate ship. Told you things are going to be random.

You have no idea how long it took to draw that rope net.

After all, I am not an artist.

See you in the next update.

The Canvas is.... way too small.

Firstly, here's the large scale inked version of the Testing phase.

Click it for the full scale size to examine all the details. Sorry for the dim lighting. I don't have a studio you know.

Anyway, just in case you're wondering, I'm not going to draw on the wall itself.

I bought my canvas today.

Four old school mounting boards.

The plan is do draw on them, ink with markers and artliners, then shellack the whole thing so it stays delicious.

But there's a problem.

It is obviously wayyyy too small. Four of them isn't going to be quite big enough to cover the wall.

Maybe 6. Or 9.

Anyway.

I told you already, I'm not an artist. I can't even buy the correct canvas size.

Special note. I'm going to be doing two things during this project.

One - I'm going to be posting periodic drawings along the way so you can see my progress.

Two - I'm going to stream my drawing every once in a while on stickam. You can find my channel here

www.stickam.com/kengjoon

So once in a while when I'm sitting down to draw, I'll stream the feed live online so you can actually view a live process and see how useless I am at drawing and how slow the ideas come together. And you can comment on my uselessness. The streams will be announced both here and on my social network pages.

So stay tuned for that.

I need to go buy more cardboard first.

Phase 1 testing.

I decided to run a test to see if I was even capable of doing what I said I was going to do.

Size - A4 paper.

Yes, much smaller than the entire wall.

Here's the picture of the pencilled test.

And here's the finished pencil.

And here's the initial ink.

Here's a video talking more about the test. And also inking and explanation of the idea.

A picture of the fully inked project will be up once I get my camera on higher resolution to capture full detail.

And so, now to tackle the wall. This will not be easy.

I am not an artist.

So it begins..

So here's the idea.

This is the wall I have right now.

I'm going to cover it with ink drawings of my own on a large scale.

That means the whole wall is going to eventually be covered by a single work of art.

I may not cover every corner of the wall.

But you get the idea.

And here's the desired effect.

Well not exactly this, but you get the idea.

It's supposed to be complex and cartoonish.

I have a pencil.

Let's see what I can do with it.

Wish me luck.

Hello?

This is going to be an online record of a little project I'm attempting.

I'm attempting to create a piece of art. But I am no means an artist.

I'm attempting to create a really big piece of art. But I am no means an artist.

I'm attempting to create a really big and detailed piece of art. But I am no means an artist.

I'm attempting to create a really big, detailed and complicated piece of art. But I am no means an artist.

I have a pencil.

I'll be drawing a big ass piece that will hopefully adorn the walls of my room.

I have an eraser.

The journey will be fun. Which is why I'm gonna share it with everyone.

But I am no means an artist.

This should be fun.

Stay tuned.
